3 ways to get better engagement and marketing ROI in 2019

‘Tis the season when marketers scramble to stay on top of the biggest trends to implement in the new year. With a digital marketing opportunity around every corner these days, it’s easy to get lost in all of the potential. Don’t let the new year preparation overwhelm you. No matter which marketing trend you intend to capitalize on, make sure you’re providing a memorable experience for your audience. The best way to provide that experience in 2019 is with immersive marketing. A large percentage of people make up their minds about brands based on digital interactions alone, and it’s becoming more important for brands to have less of a billboard mindset and be more experiential in order to stand-out from competitors. We’re seeing this across every industry. In real estate, 92% of homebuyers searched the internet before every speaking to an agent. Over 41% of home buyers found interactive online maps useful, and 40% also used virtual tours to interact with potential homes online. 5 apps you need as a social media manager

Are you new to digital marketing or switching up positions to a social media manager? Well, here is a list of apps you should download for a successful start.    Slack – Initially, Slack was listed last, but nothing is more crucial than communication with your team which is why we bumped it to the top spot. Slack allows for easy communication within your agency or department. You can also create sub-categories for anything on slack. Making sure there is fluent communication makes everything run smoother.   Google apps – While many of the Google apps play an important role in digital management, for the sake of time I won’t go over every single one of them. The key Google apps we use are Google drive, Google photos, and Google My Business. These assist with organization and headache prevention, and as a social media manager, you’ll appreciate this.    Snapseed – …or any photo editing app you feel works best for your market. We use a mix of Snapseed and RhonnaCollage to edit and watermark photos with our clients’ logos. If you’re on the go and can’t get back to the office to edit a photo before publishing it’s always good to double check the

Apple signs Texture, an Unlimited Magazine App – We put it up for review.

What started as a review of the mobile app Sip by Product Hunt, soon transferred to Texture – Unlimited Magazines app, which Apple recently bought. Texture is referred to as the “Netflix of Magazines.” We were testing out Sip when we read about Apple purchasing Texture, a digital magazine service created by Next Issue Media LLC.      So what is Texture? Well, it’s a lot like stated above, the Netflix of magazines. Categorized under news applications in the app store, Texture was developed by Next Issue Media LLC. For $9.99/month users have access to over 200 publications and some of their archived issues. Publications vary from Forbes, Glamour, to Fit Pregnancy and National Geographic Kids. Pros: 200+ Publications – I think the 200+ publications is an automatic pro, at least in my book. It has the most recent publications of each magazine but there are also older, archived magazines you can track back to if desired. Favorites list – Choose a list of favorites upon launching your account, allowing those to appear first in the “My Library” section of the app. The magazines can be changed at any time, you’re not stuck with them for life. Save for later – Save specific articles/stories to read later or

2 Steps To Social Synergy

Making your social media cohesive to your social setting. How do you get seamless branding through your social media platforms and your actual social setting? Whether your social setting be a shopping center, amusement park, or concert, how do you do it? Well, synergy. Creating synergy through both social media and social settings will create consistency for your brand. A simple definition of Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents. Which is what you want your social media and venue to do. You want them to work together to increase brand awareness and sell your product or service. But I like to think of word synergy in a naive manner. If you want to compose synergy then your social environment and social media should have, get this, similar energy = synergy. Your social media should reflect the feel, atmosphere, and personality of the environment your customer would be walking in to. It creates a wholesome branding. Here are two ways to implement synergy. In a recent Sprout Social session, Museum of Ice Cream’s head of content and social, Madison Utendahl, spoke about how creating content online should inspire action offline. Right off

Digital Marketing for 2016 – Review

As we draw closer to 2017, we as professionals can’t help but associate the holiday season with a time for reflection upon the past year that has passed us by, and utilize the time as a chance to revamp and recharge for a more successful next. Another trip around the sun- filled with lofty business goals, aspirations, achievements, new clients, successes, roadblocks, and fails. As a business, it is extremely important to audit each aspect of your company based on what you had set out to accomplish at the first of the year- what did you do well? What didn’t you? What can improve? What do you want to accomplish? The same goes for your businesses digital presence. As many of you all know, SISDigital creates a yearly handbook that helps businesses predict and plan for the upcoming new year from a digital marketing standpoint. Being industry leaders, we find it extremely rewarding and beneficial to spread the wealth of knowledge that we as an agency are proud to have regarding our services. Being the time of year for reflection, we wanted to take a step back and review what our predictions for 2016 were and how they compared to

SEO for 2016: Think Mobile

In 2015, Google told us that mobile searches surpassed desktop searches. What does this mean for your 2016 SEO strategy? Focus on mobile! Here are a few things you may want to consider:   Think Mobile First things first, if your website isn’t mobile-friendly or responsive to all devices, then you’re not ready for 2016. Next year you’ll need to have a mobile mindset. Since a majority of your audience will be viewing your content on mobile devices, you’ll want to consider how your content will appear before finalizing anything. Gone are the days of creating for desktop. As a matter of fact, it’s just the opposite. Desktops sites that aren’t optimized for mobile suffer ranking penalties, whereas mobile-only sites will suffer no ranking penalty. You’ll want to ensure that your audience receives a consistent experience across devices.   Local, Local, Local Mobile search will continue to have a major impact on local businesses and local SEO will evolve. According to Google, 50% of mobile users are likely to visit a store location after conducting a local search. Local business, especially in the retail and hospitality industries, should definitely consider local citations as a part of their SEO strategy, especially

How You Can Tap Into Facebook’s New Ad Models

In light of Advertising Week in NYC, Facebook rolled out 4 new Ad features this week including new ways to buy, measure and optimize your Facebook mobile campaigns. Looking to tap into Facebook’s new ad features? Here’s what you’ll need to know: Video in Carousel Link Ads Facebook added the capability to use video in carousel link ads – effectively enhancing visual storytelling capabilities in ads. Carousel ads are visually focused and more interactive than the common static newsfeed ads. Facebook claims that advertisers have seen carousel link ads drive 30-50% lower cost-per-conversion and 20-30% lower cost-per-click than single-image link ads – which makes sense given the various possible combinations of visuals and calls-to-action with carousel ads. Adding video to these carousels give marketers even more options to create compelling stories for our audiences, so it’s time to step up your ad game. The best thing about carousel ads is the opportunity to showcase more than one product or page. Previously, marketers could present 3-5 products or pages, but with the addition of video, the options are almost endless. For example: A food product brand could show a video using the ingredient to prepare a meal, followed by photos
