SayItSocial: Changing The Face of Men’s Health
As breast cancer awareness month comes to a close, November welcomes us with open arms as usual, however keeping with the last 10 years of tradition, it also graces us with a fluffy upper lip. Movember is internationally recognized as the month of the Mo – and now a global charity movement that encourages men to grow moustaches to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health challenges. A movement, conceived in a bar in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, will now be taken on by the SayItSocial team to raise as much funds as possible for the cause.
The rules are as follows:
1. Start clean shaven on November 1st
2. Donate your upper lips to the cause for the entire month
3. Ask friends, family and followers to support your efforts
Keep your eye out! During Movember we will be featuring a ‘Secret ‘Stache’ competition where if you donate to our Movember fund which can be found here, and you are one of the first people to find the ‘Secret Stache’ on our website, you can win a prize! Details of this will come soon!
It’s hard to think, but this time next month our CEO, Ty Downing could be sporting a Mo! …Or is it?
We will be harnessing the power of our moustaches (or even our attempted peach fuzz upper lip) to change the actions and attitudes of everyone when it comes to a serious subject as this, which touches one in six men.
